Biography

Folk, Blues, Rock, Jazz, and early music through the Renaissance have all helped to shape Cindy’s musical sensibilities. She has performed as a solo act, in acapella ensembles and groups, as well as various Bands in Northern California, Oregon, New Mexico, and throughout the Southeast since the 1980s.

While living in Taos, New Mexico, she began to hone her craft as a songwriter playing and studying with great songwriters Carl Struck, Mentor Williams, and Jenny Bird. And, Cindy continues to write. Her songs evoke familiar feelings of where we’ve been, and invite us to wonder at where we’re going. And, underlying all of her tunes are the rhythmic guitar grooves that give them all Cindy’s signature style.

For the past 12 years, Cindy has called Brevard, NC home. In 2006 she was a recipient of a Regional Artist Award Grant for Transylvania County, North Carolina to assist in recording a demo of her songs. She continues to play throughout the Southeast, and maintains a roster of guitar, piano and voice students.
